Favorites of 2009

Untitled-1

One of my favorite things about blogging (besides all the wonderful internet friends I've made) is the fact that the blog acts as sort of a diary. I've never kept a diary although I've always admired people who do. When I was looking back over the photos we've taken in the past year, I was surprised at the flood of memories that came with them; traveling to Philly to explore old cemeteries, going to see Bat For Lashes play at the Unitarian Church, sneaking into the abandoned silk mill, how cold it was on Easter Sunday and how it felt to lie in the grass on the first truly warm day of spring.

Naturally when I picked my favorite shots from 2009 they all ended up being ones that Tom took; not my self-timed-run-around-the-camera-and-pose ones. So I have to say a big thank you to him for always being ready with the camera to capture photos for the blog. Thank you!

I also want to say a huge thank you to all of you who come here to visit! I just really don't think I say it nearly enough. I'm still amazed at just how many lovely people I've come in contact with through blogging. One of my resolutions will be trying to respond to more of your comments and being a better commenter on other blogs! Right now I don't do that nearly as much as I would like. I'm not sure what my other resolutions will be... travel more? read more? finally get my office in order? What about you? What are your resolutions for the new year?

Happy New Year! I love seeing all of these photos again! They are truly brilliant. And I agree, blogs are a sort of diary or journal, but they're even better because you get to share them with people who have the same interests. Can't wait to read more posts in 2010! :)

I still love the gingham skirt in the fields of the Amish country outfit, glad you picked it!

My blog is also nice to keep track of my life. Every diary I ever started totally failed so its nice to click back and find out what I was thinking

I love the first row, lovely outfits! You're blog is my favourite :) And I read like 60 blogs and I've been reading blogs since 2005 so I know a good deal about what a terrific blog is and yours is! :D

Your blog is also my favorite of the ones I read. You have inspired me to get out to the thrift stores this year and I have found some great treasures there! It sure beats the cheap trendy clothes found in the mall. This might be the year I start my own blog!

Keep up the inspriration, oh and I would love to see some more pictures of your new house.

Happy New Year, and cheers to you!

Kelly

I have to say these photos are beautiful!

I'm so proud that I accomplished my goal for 2009, which was to apply for graduate school. In 2010 I've got two HUGE resolutions: 1) train and run a 5k and 2) only shop at thrift stores. Yikes!

I love your blog, and I'd love you to check mine out, too. Annie.

Hi there. I am here by way of Tom b. Photography. :) No resolutions to share -- but I did want to say how much I enjoy your blog and your photos! I have a 15 year old daughter who would just die to have clothes like these. She is working on it -- only shops in the 2nd hand stores :) I resolve to show her your blog :)!!

Hey, nice post. 2009 has been a good year, you know?

I clicked into your blog through some friend of a friend of a friend. I thought maybe you would like this pic of one of our new products: a skinny bow tie.

We put you up on our Blogroll. We are going to try to get more focused and more connected into the blogosphere. I hope you come check us out. Happy New Year.

definitely more travel! I'm going to Austin for SxSW in March but I want to make more plans to go more places! more personal style blogging is another one. also possible finding a new job in the summer - it's time for a change in that department.

As for the photos, I love how an image can transport you to another place - a memory or a dream. yours definitely have that power.
